Here I am, jumping on the bandwagon of the blogger ’2012 Favourites’ post. I don’t think I’ve seen a blog or a Youtube that hasn’t featured one of these, but no complaints because I absolutely reading/viewing them. Seeing as my obsession only really began in 2012 this is fairly basic and a lot of these products have been used less towards the end of the year – replaced by new purchases that I’ve been loving. Nevertheless, these products have served me well this year and deserve a mention. So from my collection I picked out my favourite products and will share with you why I’ve loved them
Here are the products For more information about everything click continue reading.
B.B Cream: Lovely Me:Ex B.B Cream SPF 20.
I’m onto my fourth tube of this. That’s how much I love it. This provides enough every day coverage for me and it lasts all day. I truly love this product so very much, it’s an every day essential.
Concealer: Clarins Instant Light Brush-On Perfector in shade 01.
Concealer is a must-have for me whenever I’m putting on make up. I don’t have horrifically bad dark circles but I still look much more awake with this under my eyes. This product has enough coverage for my every day needs and doesn’t cake or anything of the sort during the day. It really stays put until it’s taken off. I’ve really enjoyed finding this product this year.
Blush: Bourjois blush in shade 16 Rose Coup De Foudre.
I had been meaning to try out Bourjois for a while so when there was a sale at Priceline I bought this and was pleasantly surprised. The colour is very natural on my cheeks which is ultimately what I want and the texture is very enjoyable. I’ve got a few more blushes recently that I’ve been enjoying so this favourite might change quickly!
Highlighter: Australis High Lights Mineral Face Highlighter in shade Pearl.
I love the effect a good highlighter can have on a face and this really can do the trick for me. I’ve also recently taken to mixing a pump of this with my foundation or B.B cream for a slightly more glowy finish. A subtle but effective highlighter. Similarly to the blush, I got a fantastic highlighter for Christmas so that could be taking the reigns in the coming year.
Cream eyeshadow: Maybelline Colour Tattoo in shade Bad To The Bronze.
Surely if you’ve read a beauty blog before you’ve heard of this product. Praises are sung from every corner of the beauty blogging world. But all of the hype is worth it – this product is amazing, both as a base or on it’s own on a lazy day. It has a great staying power and always makes it easier for me on mornings if I’m running late.
Eyeshadow Palette: Smashbox Softbox Photo Op Eye Shadow Palette.
I won this in a giveaway on My Newest Addiction and was absolutely over the moon. 6 shades with wonderful pigmentation and texture, I always come back to this palette and am never disappointed. I’ve also begun to use one of the shades as a slight contour, very useful. This palette is also my go to if I’m travelling or going to someone else’s house to get ready.
Mascara: Maybelline Full N Soft Waterproof.
I bought this when I was in need of a waterproof mascara for a holiday and chanced upon this one. I’m so glad that I did as it’s truly a fantastic mascara. It follows through on it’s claims of Full and Soft, I was amazed the first time I used this product and I haven’t stopped being impressed with the result since. The only issue with this product is that it’s seriously waterproof – very hard to remove at the end of the day but I love the results so much that it’s worth it.
Lip gloss: Essence XXXL Nudes Lipgloss in shade Forever Rose. This lipgloss doesn’t have much in the way of pigmentation but it leaves a beautiful gloss on my lips that I really enjoy, I wear this lip gloss regularly when I want a bit of gloss but not a lot of attention on my lips. I’m a big fan of Essence and this lip gloss.
I’d love to hear from others what their favourite products of 2012 were in the comments below. Thanks very much for reading
